Rodney Boone (b.1951, Berkeley, CA), is a California-based artist with a studio in San Pedro, CA. Following a 40-year career in psychology, he now dedicates himself full-time to photography and photo-based collage. Since retiring in 2022, he has fully immersed himself in the studio, creating collages that incorporate his own photography, found images, and 19th century crayon portraits and cabinet cards that he has sourced from flea markets and garage sales. Boone’s work explores the themes of the inevitability of physical decline and death, as well as the hope and surprise of creating new landscapes and portraits out of ancient works to revivify the seemingly ordinary and mundane.
